Another Smokey Soft Autumn

Having asked my Facebook and Instagram readers for their opinions, here is my official opinion on this woman. 😊

Most agree with my assessment, or at least were close.

I feel the best season for her is Smokey Soft Autumn.

And I’m realizing I use examples that turn out to be this season often. I promise the next one will be different. But I think it’s because I find the Smokey Soft Autumn fascinating, for a few reasons.

First, it is missed by consultants very often. The dark-haired Smokey Autumns can look like a Deep Autumn, when in actuality, that palette is a bit too heavy and overpowering. Still, in the 12-season system, it’s the best choice, albeit the only choice.

Middle-range hair color and very neutral coloring might make a sharp-eyed analyst realize she is one of those neutral Soft Autumns. However, some analysts think that because there are no iconic autumn traits like red hair, olive green eyes, freckles, etc, they might assume the person must be some sort of Summer, perhaps. I see it often.

This woman (AI-generated), strikes me as someone who was definitely a deeper-haired Soft Autumn at one time, and still is, despite her graying hair making her lighter in value.

Some readers felt Dusty Soft Autumn was her best season. And that would be my second choice. But usually, I reserve that season for those former deeper Soft Autumns who had lighter blue or grey eyes.

When one’s eyes are on the deeper side like this woman, I stick with the deeper Smokey category, so some richer, deeper earth tones can still echo the richness in her eyes. Still, Dusty Autumn is on the same spectrum as Smokey, so not a bad choice.
